About J P Wornham - Hi, I’m Jenny…

“I have been an established artist for some 10 years, completing various commissions as my skills have grown to an expert level.”

I started drawing from an early age, as many artists do. I specifically remember the first time I realised I wanted to pursue it. I was at my Nan and Grandad’s and I would be given a lined pad to do some doodles in, I was about 9, except I decided to focus on and draw the little stain glass effect sticker on their conservatory door. Sounds silly but the compliments I got from them and my parents made me think I could really draw. In reality, it was like any other drawing a 9 year old would do but having that little confidence booster got me practising. It was a relaxing and fun hobby to have.

Fast forward to now and I have been and established artist for some 10 years (since I was 18), completing various commissions as my skills have grown to an expert level. I specialised in photo realistic portraiture for many years and have grown and developed new techniques in order to complete beautiful live paintings.

Over the past few years I have pushed my art skills to their limits by taking part in various exhibitions and got short listed for Doncaster Art Fair in 2021, there were over 2500 entries, 490 got listed including mine. When it came to the public vote, it came 28th out of those 490 - I was pretty proud considering that was my first entry.

In 2021, it was announced that a piece of artwork I created for Explorers Against Extinction’s Sketch for Survival was chosen as a runner up and has been placed in the Conservation Collection. It was an amazing cause to create for and I am astounded by the result.

The summer of 2022, I experimented with a new style - the faceless portraits. I introduced them at a street party for the Platinum Jubilee and they have gained popularity at weddings and festivals.

From April 2023, I offer workshops drawn from my experiences at my day jobs and from what I’ve learnt over the years. I absolutely love being able to share something that I love!

It has recently been announced that my little business is officially award winning! I’ve achieved “Best Wedding Portrait Artist 2023 - South England” by LuxLife Magazine,
